How to Ensure Your Internet Habits are Known Only by You
Do you know you
have HIDDEN files on YOUR computer?
Index.dat files
keep copies for everything that was ever in your Temporary
Internet, Cookies, and History folders. They secretly record
and keep copies of everything that was ever in your cookie,
history and temporary internet folders even AFTER these
files have been deleted. By default the attributes for these
files are set to "Hidden", but they live on your computer
here:
The average 12
year old can access and read these files. They can find out
every where you have gone and everything you have done
online. All this information is stored in the index.dat
files.
What if you have
to send your computer in for repair? Wouldn't you like to
keep your internet surfing habits and other personal data
private? Not to mention your boss, spouse, girlfriend,
boyfriend, Mom, Dad, co-worker... ANYONE else who may share
your computer.
Internet privacy
is an issue only you can do something about. No one else is
going to do it for you. Your Internet surfing habits are
your business, you should keep it that way.
You can not
permanently delete index.dat files as they will
automatically be recreated, but you can remove the data in
the files. These files will continue to run, recording your
surfing habits, but can be cleaned at any time using a
number of recommended third party products.

Evidence Eliminator: Simply the best
software available to ensure you do not have
incriminating evidence on your computer's hard disk.
An absolute must if you regularly visit sites which
could easily be described as "terrorist" sites, such as
ThreeWorldWars(!). |

No Evidence: While I rate Evidence
Eliminator highly, and use it personally, many have told
me it's a little expensive. Here's a slightly
cheaper alternative which, although it doesn't have all
the features of EvElim, still does keep your tracks
fairly clean. |

Ultimate Anonymity: Safely visit the
websites that you want without revealing your true
identity. It is nobody's business where you go and
what you do online, yet you'll be surprised at how much
is known about your surfing habits to those who know
where to look. |

URL Encoded: I don't know how they can do it, but
this site offers 100% free anonymous websurfing. No
advertisements. No limits. Plus URL encoded browsing -
not even your ISP can know what you browse. |

Spyware Nuker: Have you noticed your
computer running slower than ever?
The reason for that may have to do with online
advertisers adding SpyWare or AdWare to your computer
without your knowledge. "Spyware" is a common term for
files that are installed on your system without your
knowledge that allow companies to monitor your Internet
activity. "AdWare" is software that will show you popup
ads over and over. What they don't tell you, however, is
how these files can be extremely dangerous to your PC
and could cause major problems with your PC.
Provides a free scan of your computer. |
