I just watched a very interesting program about the Freemasons on The National Geographic Channel. The Freemasons, the secret society that many believe is directly involved in controlling, manipulating, and directing the world’s leaders to develop a New World Order. This centuries old, all-male, highly secretive society, also known as The Craft, has long been thought to be one of the most powerful organizations in history causing revolution, war, and laying the foundation for total and complete world domination.

I just read about Virgin chairman Sir Richard Branson announcing a prize of 25 million bucks to the first scientist who figures out how to extract greenhouse gases out of the atmosphere. Al Gore, the former VP, was there when this challenge was presented to the world.

A few years back, I had the opportunity to visit Beijing, China with my husband and his parents. It was a fully guided tour that took us and about 30 other Americans on the trip of a lifetime to the mysterious land of China. When we arrived in Beijing, we found that we were staying at one of the most luxurious hotels I’ve ever stayed at. This was quite a surprise since the entire package, hotel, meals, tours, and air travel from the United States only ran us around $900 each! Inside the rooms, we were surprised to find CNN International on the televisions. This was such a shock since we had been told that China did not allow international TV in the country at the time. As we toured the countryside and were shown the China that they wanted us to see, we quickly realized that we were simply pawns in China’s media marketing scheme that wanted to show Americans that they were just like us. Forget about that little thing called Communism and see our beautiful new skyscrapers and listen to our kindergarteners sing English language songs! I have to tell you, it was more than a bit creepy.

What in the world is wrong with America? We need to remind the bureaucrats that this country belongs to the people not Big Business. This is How America works today. A company developed a tiny micro chips and the geeks that developed it want to make millions, the American dream, right? Will they try selling it to the public and get a few sales but nothing big. In a true free market economic the company loses money and changes products to stay in business. Today the big business runs to the Federal government donates millions to the correct Congressman or Senator and a law or policy change to make it mandatory that all farm animals must have the chip. Ahh, millions most likely billions for the geeks that developed the chip.

I’m taking a short departure from my series called the Agenda to talk about the Democratic National Committee meeting last week when they heard from all their candidates. From all the writing I’ve been doing about EPI and democratic economic policies, you may think I’m a democrat. I’m not. I’m apolitical, which makes me a fairly good person to write about what goes on in Washington. I think all these people are full of it. And yet, I know we need to keep an eye on them.

Alright, I have discussed a few other topics recently, but now I am back to Bush-whacking. When I heard the $2.9 trillion Bush budget plan for the 2008 fiscal year yesterday, an outcry was necessary.

How much longer will the world be held captive by the threat of a new world pandemic caused by the so-called H5N1 bird flu virus? The threat of a massive outbreak of the deadly virus that could possibly wipe out a huge chunk of the world population has been frightening the public for over three years now. So, when exactly is it going to happen already?

On February 2, the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) released a report in Paris entitled, Climate Change 2007. In this report, 2,500 scientists from 130 countries found that the trend toward dangerous global warming was started by human activity, beginning with the dramatic increase in the use of fossil fuel during the Industrial Revolution in the mid-1800’s. A draft of this relevant report, which is the fourth such assessment conducted by the IPCC, was circulated among major news organizations over the past week.

Being an inquisitive type, I tend to spend frequent hours reading, pondering, all the while working on my chain maille vest. Call it my zen activity if you will, really it is just a constructive pass-time. During these hours I ask myself a lot of questions, and eventually put my answers down in writing for later reflection.
