The Mayans and Their Doomsday Calendar
As you may already know, according to the Mayan calendar, the world is scheduled to end at precisely 11:11 GMT on December 21, 2012. Beyond that though, what exactly do you know about the Mayans, their famous calendar, and all of this apocalypse talk?
The Mayan’s were an ancient civilization that developed in the Yucatan (Mexico) around 2600 B.C. During these early days of the Mayan civilization, they began developing what would ultimately become highly accurate methods of mathematics, astronomy, calendars, farming, and writing. During the Mayan Classic period (300-900 A.D.), the Mayan’s were at their height of civilization. They built enormous pyramids, developed sophisticated astronomical charts, invented the concept of the zero in mathematics, created words for such large numbers that today we don’t even have names for, developed a highly complicated alphabet, wrote detailed histories or their culture, and perfected the calendar to a precision that our own Gregorian calendar lacks. Sometime between 800 and 900 A.D., the great civilization that was the Mayan people suddenly disappeared, seemingly without a trace. Their cities were abandoned and all development ceased. No one is sure if they were destroyed, dispersed, or just disappeared. Unfortunately, most of the written records that the Mayan’s kept were destroyed in 1562 with the invasion of the Spanish, so any explanation for their disappearance that may have existed at one time was burned to ashes. While some so-called Mayans still exist today, their highly developed civilization mysteriously and suddenly stopped moving forward as great mathematicians, builders, writers, and artists after 900 A.D.
Many people believe that the Mayans were so advanced that they developed the ability to travel through space or through time and decided to finally up and leave this planet or time period of their own volition due to other cultures continually trying to invade their own. Pacal the Great ruled the Mayan civilization for much of the later part of 600 A.D. and commissioned many of the great classical works of architecture and art of the time. Today, he is most famous for the image that was found on his tomb that is often referred to as the Maya Astronaut. In the tomb carving, Pacal is seen in what many interpret as an ancient spaceship or time machine. He is sitting it something that could be interpreted as a cockpit, his hands are turning instruments, his foot appears to be on a pedal, a tube is inserted into his nose as if he is receiving oxygen, and wisps of smoke or exhaust appear to be shooting from the bottom of the ship.
The Mayan people were obsessed with time, dates, and predicting the cycles of the seasons, planets, and the sun because they wanted to accurately be able to predict the development of their crops in order to survive. Because of this, they perfected the accuracy of time to the point that they were only off by one day every 6000 years, which is exceedingly more accurate than our own Gregorian calendar. The main calendar used by the Mayans was called the Tzolkin. This calendar consisted of 260 days which used two different cyclic systems of 13 numbered days and 20 named days which corresponds to the 26,000 year cycle of the Pleiades constellation, the 260 day cycle of the human gestation period, and the 13 moons that exist in a solar year. This calendar was able to predict individual day to day cycles as well as long ranging cycles far into the future. This is where we get the predicted end date for all of time which ends on or around (depending on who you ask) the 21st of December 2012. This is said to be the end of a 5,125 year galactic cycle where the earth, the sun, the galaxy, or the universe itself will either be destroy or will enter a new age of enlightenment, depending on whether you’re a pessimist or an optimist. This is because the Mayan calendar’s start date was August 3,114 B.C. which was written as 13.0.0.0.0 in Mayan. The December 2012 date will once again return to the 13.0.0.0.0 date, indicating that a new cycle will begin again.
I will explain more of the predictions and understandings of the Mayan calendar in an upcoming post, so stay tuned while we still have time to prepare for the end!

In reference to 2012 and the Mayan calendar, it is now known that on the day of Dec 21, 2012 our planet shall align perfectly with our sun, and the center of our galaxy (Milky Way). Many modern theories diverge onto different paths of belief on what this could imply. Some think it will result in a polar shift, rendering every bit of magnetic information we have (computers) useless as it will wipe them all clean. The coming of the next Ice Age, the return of the ‘Star People’ and biblical times.
Myself I strongly believe in this date and its relevance to what is going on in the world around us. it is a date for us to set our focus on. The advance of modern technology is almost a reflection of this. the stone age lasted many thousands of years. The bronze age lasted a few thousand years, the industrial age took three hundred years, the chemical or plastic age began a little more than a century ago, the information age began about thirty years ago and the biotechnology age began within the last decade. This constant progression of knowledge is gearing up to a focal point, kind of like Terence McKenna’s TimeWave Zero idea. 2012 seems like the point of the dawning of a new age for humanity, in whatever it may be. Artificial Intelligence seems a popular belief, one I don’t look overly forward to.
All things aside, the Mayans were a people deeply entrenched into the ever present cycles of our galaxy. A cycle older than anything we can comprehend and it is coming to a climax now, the thirteenth cycle is actually coming to an end. In Mayan belief the number 13 is the number of change, it represents rebirth and the understanding of new knowledge, leaving behind the old to take up the new. This can be found inside of the 13-day moon calendar of the Haab calendar (I follow the mayan calendar and have left the gregorian in the past, life begins to unfold differently under their system and the cycles of nature begin to make more sense).
I personally don’t believe 13.0.0.0.0 is and end date, for the day after shall read 13.0.0.0.1. The question is, what world will we walk into on that date, and what does the future hold for humanity? The Age of Aquarius is going to come in with one damn bumpy ride, thats for sure.

Interesting…
1 Problem…
Can you make it till that day?
To see it all?
The End of the Beginning,
The Beginning of the End.
Fate is Fate.
Accept it and Live while you may,
All will turn to dust one day!

whatever happens, you can be sure that our government will be of no help at all, even if they are able to do anything. in fact you should expect them to manipulate events to their advantage, like they do with everything else.
end of the world? i doubt it. end of an age? yes, the piscean age. the earth will move into the house of aquarius. don’t let the “end-of-timer”s and the “jesus camp”ers freak you out. religion is bullshit. politics is bullshit. if you eliminate politics and religion from your lives, what’s left?
just you and the planet… as it should be.

I for one have spent some time thinking about the whole Mayan calendar and what it may or may not mean, to me, my family, my brothers in the corp, my friends, and then last but not least the rest of the world. Now when I say I’ve spent some time thinking, I must first make clear that I am in no way shape or form an expert on this topic, though it is easy for one to become one, with all the information on the net about this topic, containing volumes upon volumes of theories, and what can you prove really, on both sides of the issue.
The bottom line for me personally, it boils down to “does it feel right”, a right is easily seen/felt when it is uttered out loud or in print. As for what the Mayan Calendar may or not imply, I all can do is simply prepare as I would for any event such as an earthquake, hurricane, or just common-sense emergency kits everyone should have around the house.
But if this Mayan thing turns out to be ture, do not count on your government to save you, whether it is local, state, and or federal. They’ll take care of themselves, their resources, ie: money/food/medicine, and their ability to keep those things ie: military force … before they’ll think of the average Joe and Jane on the street.
Is there a point to this?? … nope, just stating the obvious, your on your own, regardless what anyone sez, and you should plan and act accordingly.

I beleive that; December 21/2012 may not be totally and exactly accurate for the end of the world, however, if the middle east does not put a stop to their fighting sooner or later a rogue nation, and or the U.S. will flatten the middle east to smitherine. I truly hope that I am wrong. So Smarten up you guys out there and stop fighting.

Technical question: why 11:11 GMT? What would an ancient Mayan know about GMT? Wouldn’t the time stamp be referenced to Mexico City or environs?
I’ve been an armchair astrologer for quite a while, and I have some predictions along that line, [BTW astrologers should check out the sidereal “birth chart” for the New World Order! “33″ all the way!], and I see all the 11’s in the date 12/21/2012, but I’m actually quite miffed by the totally un-notable character of the stellar configuration on this day.
There is probably no better presentation about the nature, aims, and purposes of the Mayan leaders than that found in “The Inner Impulses of Evolution: The Mexican Mysteries and the Knights Templar” by Rudolph Steiner, which can be found online (donation requested) at: http://wn.rsarchive.org/Lectures/InnerImpul/InnImp_index.html
The material will be very challenging and sound quite strange “to the uniniated”, but in my estimation the source is 100% reliable. One can temper one’s judgement of the material by following the reading with a reading of the author’s “The Philosophy of Freedom”, which forms the basis of all that Steiner ever said.

I beleive WW # 3 has now been in progress since 1991, and, it will end before 2013 with a nuclear war destroying 1/3 of the human race or more. It is a war between religion in the middle east mostly, but will spread much further before it’s all over.

Brothers and Sisters,
I am so pleased to find (late), a discussion between human beings in which no one attacks another. There is no greater threat to our existence than bigotry (religion).
A new age is on our horizon. This is why, IMHO, America (where I live) is being pillaged in a heretofore unprecedented fashion. For the “money changers” it is time to cash out; much as a successful gambler would do at a casino.
The whole world watches what “we” do, and reacts accordingly. “We” were once the economic engine of the free world. This is no longer true. We have been taken down from the inside, by the venerated “Crown”.
Please understand that these people have no power that is not allowed by US! The ideal of a free and soveriegn people does not have to die with the “age”. In fact, it can flourish. Let’s all take this opportunity to see what we can do to facilitate this. We only have about five years to wake up!

P. S.: Don’t look outside yourself for guidance. You, yourself are both the “Son” and the “Holy Ghost”, and you know it!

Will carbon tax stop global warming? I doubt. People are in love with their cars, mainly because it’s still the best way for transportation. It all started will the invention of the wheel. Then came the horse and buggy days. It was replaced by the invention called Ottomobile in the late 1800. What will replace the the cars will probably be;Teleportaion. Then and only then, people will choose to get out of their cars. It will probably start around the ending year of 2012. A new era will begin.
