Under New Law, Citizens may be Quarantined and Provided Unproven Vaccines

Sounds like the Government want to play mad scientist to me. Received in an e-mail.

“According to a recent alert from a group called Citizens for Legitimate Government, the Senate just granted passage to a Bill that establishes a new government agency called the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA). This law expands the U.S. government’s power to test drugs - most likely vaccines - on the citizenry.”

The Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Act (S. 3678) authorizes more than $5 billion for biomedical research projects and would allow funds for vaccine research and development. The measure would clarify that the HHS secretary would assume the lead role in the event of a bioterrorist attack or disease outbreak, and essentially would relegate the Homeland Security Department to a supporting role.

The bill number helped to track down the actual text. Reading the bill was an eye opener as you might imagine but here is the “WHAT” part: “develop and disseminate to each state the criteria for an effective state plan for responding to pandemic influenza.” Plan for pandemic Influenza? How would the government know to plan for a flu that has not been a serious threat for almost 80 years? Further in the bill we find an eligible entity to purchase and use advanced diagnostic medical equipment to analyze real-time clinical specimens for pathogens of public health or bioterrorism significance and report any results to state, local, and tribal public health entities and the network.

Reading through the bill and the amendment passed was the normal government double speak. Basically the bill serves as an appointment of a Director and a task force. Their job is to contact states to obtain a list of health professional that are willing to work in a state of emergency. A normal Federal requirement if States don’t comply withholds the funding. Contact drug companies and set up for buying in case of National emergency. What the bill looks like it does is that, in the case of bio attack, a vaccine that is highly like to work may be given to the public before the required testing time. If you saw the movie “Outbreak,” you know the Government has a plan for requiring citizens to be quarantine and forced to take a vaccine. This quarantine procedure is authorized in the bill.

Is this something to worry about? Maybe. You must first understand how Government thinks. This bill was passed in good faith that if a terrorist attack happens we have a program set up to deal with it. The only part that really jumps out was pandemic influenza. Now there might be a problem back in the cold war Russia and the United States both were working on ways to kill off major part of the populations with Bio weapons. Supposedly Russia had devolved a strain of influenza that could kill off 90% of infected population. If the government has found out this military grade influenza was sold to terrorist who plan on using it in the US we have a problem. If you were dying from a military strain of influenza would you be willing to try an unproven vaccine? ” IF” something does happen, you will have to decide then what you are going to do.

One thing I wanted to check was Pat Robertson predicting a terrorist attack “mass killing” in the US before the end of 2007. Here is a link to the MSNBC report

“VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - In what has become an annual tradition of prognostications, religious broadcaster Pat Robertson predicted Tuesday that a terrorist attack on the United States would result in “mass killing” late in 2007.

“I’m not necessarily saying it’s going to be nuclear,” he said during his news-and-talk television show “The 700 Club” on the Christian Broadcasting Network. “The Lord didn’t say nuclear. But I do believe it will be something like that.””

Is this something to worry about? I’m not sure, but “Pat Robertson” has a poor record of being right.

In May, Robertson said God told him that storms and possibly a tsunami were to crash into America’s coastline in 2006. Even though the U.S. was not hit with a tsunami, Robertson on Tuesday cited last spring’s heavy rains and flooding in New England as partly fulfilling the prediction.

All I know for sure is in these uncertain times, there is no way you would catch me living in a major city. Population control is much easier in a large city. Can you imagine trying to get out of any US city in a national emergency? If you remember the Houston and New Orleans evacuation some folks being on the road for 12 hours that should have been a 2-hour drive.

Add the panic of terrorist attack and the Highways would be the Wild West. Now give the Government the power to use you and your family as a test subject for a unproven vaccine, and this could spell disaster.
